Sept. 18, 2009	Alvin and Alham are members of our Best Buddies Club. The friendship that developed because of their involvement in the Best Buddies program changed both their lives and opened new doors for Alham. They were honoured with the Spirit of Friendship Award at the 2009 Best Buddies Gala during the Toronto International Film Festival. Apr. 3	Congratulations to the 128 staff and students who participated in our 3rd Wake-a-thon where we stayed up 12 hours to raise money towards our goal of donating $12K to the Stephen Lewis Foundation.
Mar. 11	Congratulations to our Canada Skills Competition teams in construction, video and robotics. Our robotics team finished first in York Region and will go on to the Ontario championships next month.
Feb. 25	Congratulations to our Sears Drama Festival team which produced 'Hedges'. Adjudicated by Marjorie Chan, we received an Award of Merit for Production Execution and an Award of Excellence for Ensemble Performance!

Feb. 23	The Mock Trial team placed second in York Region, and will move on to the Ontario finals. Students prosecuted and defended a criminal case through an interschool competition. Teams were evaluated on the basis of the following: proper trial process and procedure; development and presentation of appropriate legal arguments and statements; oral advocacy and use of compelling arguments; and witness performance and courtroom etiquette.
